mixed mono output for headset / earbuds?
I am 100% deaf in my left ear and there are no decent equipment options for single sided headsets (onebud, scansound, etc have some mono products, but nothing on the Bose / Shure / Beats / etc level).
Some phones, and some iPods offer a mono output setting, but I have not yet owned, or even seen any Android phone with this setting (I am currently rawkin a DROID Turbo). Would it be possible to add an option of mixed mono output to both channels of the headphone jack? Then I could get whatever nice brand / model headphones or earbuds I choose and hear all the sounds in my right ear! I would love some Shure earbuds, as that is what I used before I lost my hearing in 2006, and I see that they have continued to tweek and tune their designs even more since then, but as it is now I miss a lot of parts of music due to stereo seperation (anything in the left channel falls on a deaf ear heh). I see that SoundAbout Pro offers a mono bluetooth option, but don't see that for wired headphones or headset with mic (my wife has Bose earbuds with mic, and they work great for phonecalls, and have a good sound in the right ear, but obviously still missing the left channel for me). I hope this is something that can be offered, and I will gladly pay for the Pro version and even offer an additional donation too :-)
Thanks in advance!

Re: mixed mono output for headset / earbuds?
I can look at that. I don't know if Android gives me a way to do that. I do know that using Bluetooth (SCO) (mono) (usually for phone calls, but SoundAbout can use for some media) is broadcast in mono.
Re: mixed mono output for headset / earbuds?
I know that iOS devices, and some (Samsung for sure) Androids offer the option in settings to use mono, and as far as I can tell from reading, it is indeed a mixed mono output. The DROID TURBO does not have this setting though (and I have little hope of anyone caring if I were to contact Verizon / Android).

Does the Samsung offer mono with any audio output (Speaker, wired headset, Bluetooth...etc), or only the device speaker?
Android allows recording audio in mono, and playing audio tracks/files in mono, but I don't see any way to make ALL audio to play in mono. This would have to be done in the phone kernel developed for the phone. You may be able to get this setting baked into a custom ROM on a rooted phone.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.near.boefflasound&hl=en this offers a mono setting, but requires root, so I can not currently use it on my TURBO (and it does not work with the kernel of my MeMoPad 8 either).

Yeah, that's what I thought. Samsung must have updated the kernel on their phones and added that setting. It's not in the standard Android settings.

if I were to try something like this: http://www.amazon.com/MEElectronics-Sport-Fi-Bluetooth-Wireless-Headphone/dp/B00K3MH7LK
would the bluetooth mono option play both channels of audio --> into (mixed) mono --> into both ears?

Re: mixed mono output for headset / earbuds?
If that headset supports both Bluetooth A2DP (stereo high quality), and Bluetooth SCO (mono) (phone calls), then you could use SoundAbout to play some audio using Bluetooth mono. The audio has to be lower quality. I use apps like "Tune In" and play the audio over Bluetooth mono. Other things, like notifications won't play over Bluetooth mono (it is limited). I wish there was an easy way to switch all audio to mono or stereo.
