Wired headset played through car

So in the free trial version and maybe a couple days with the paid non-beta and upgrading to beta, the music would pause when an incoming notification arrived or google navigation was speaking direction. I want the music to continue to pause when I receive a notification to my phone and heard through the wired headset along with google navigation direction. It now lowers the music and puts the notification and google navigation direction as more of a priority. I've tried configuring so many settings, but it seems like it just happened out of nowhere. Any help is appreciated.
