Problem with LG G3 headset Quadbeats 2

I have the LG G3, and have problems with the headset. For some reason when the microphone is activated, it affects the playback of audio and the volume controls. I would like to disable this on the headset that came with the phone, Quadbeats 2. However, no matter what I do, every time I pluf the headset in, it seems to be detecting the mic. I have setting as ignore mic for both phone and media, and have the choice selected as "Wired Headphones". I reinstalled. Am I doing something wrong, or any other success on a LG G3?

That is strange. Normally, a wired headset has a built in microphone and the headset jack as an extra ring on the pin When you plug in the headset, the pins tell the phone that here is a headset with a microphone. When you say "activate microphone", are you saying that you can turn the mic on and off?

You can set the media audio and phone call audio settings to "Let app decide". You can click on "Connectable devices" and "Wired headset settings". Then un-check "Wired Headset microphone".
