Trying to play media via Mono

I am trying to use the app but it is currently not working for what I need.

My car's BT doesn't have the A2DP profile listed on my phone.
With the app I tried to route the media audio via Mono, but it still won't connect to the bluetooth...
Tried several combinations.

Not sure what I am missing?
Phone is a rooted Samsung Galaxy S4.

In summary, is it possible to play media using this app in a device that doesn't have the A2DP protocol? I also need to make phone calls from my voip app (I see that there is an option to connect the mic in mono too).
