How can I force headphone mode with this app?
forum.xda-developers.com/att-lg-g3/general/fix-headphone-problems-t2872666
This post details my problem and is then solved with SoundAbout.
I haven't yet had time to test if slowly, barely putting it in the jack with SA enabled makes it detect headphones, at which point you can click it all the way in. Is there anyone out there that can give me a detailed explanation of what settings I should use to achieve this, and if it's not possible with this app, suggest a different solution?
Thanks a lot!

Re: How can I force headphone mode with this app?
You can really force headset detection, especially if the headset is somewhat incompatible.
That being said, you can do the following with SoundAbout:
1) If you want to try and force the phone to think a headset is plugged in (because it is not detecting it), you can try either of these two steps:
a) Place the SoundAbout widget called "headset toggle" on the home screen. You can click the widget to be ON to force headset mode.
b) You can also open SoundAbout and change the Media Audio setting to "Wired Headphones" or "Wired Headset(with mic)".
2) If the phone keeps detecting signals that the headset is plugged in when it is not:
