Soundabout randomly stops working

I've been using SoundAbout to redirect my google maps directions through bluetooth mono. It works great most of the time, but sometimes (quite often), it will stop giving directions. When the app works fine, I'd get a "phone call" but I would just hear the directions, and then the call would end. When the app stops working, instead of hearing directions, I will get a "phonecall" with no sound. The call doesn't end either, and I would manually have to end the call. Next time google maps is ready to give directions, I will get another phone call with no sound. The only way to fix it is to restart the phone, which is frustrating when you're driving.

Has this been a common issue? I tried searching the forum, but couldn't find anything. Also, if it helps, I am using a Galaxy Nexus. Would a newer phone possibly solve the issue?

Do you have Android 4.3? Did you update android? There have been some changes that affect Bluetooth communication to cars. I have a way to make this better and am trying to get the code together again to release a Beta.

I am on 4.3 but I've experienced the same problem with 4.1

I've improved connecting to Bluetooth mono. Try the latest Beta.

You may want to clear the app cache and data, install and restart the phone.
