Can't change media volume on Xperia S

Hey,
I've been using SoundAbout for quite some time as my phones headset detection is broken (headset always plugged in) to reroute my audio to the speakers.
It used to work well which it still does but after one of the more recent updates I am unable to change the media volume, the slider is greyed out and it can't be changed until I restart the phone.
As soon as I somehow interact with SoundAbout the volume becomes locked. Sometimes on 0% so I can't hear anything.
If I uninstall SoundAbout the slider funtions again.
It is just the media volume not the ringtone or alert volume.
I'm using SA Version 2.6.70 on Android 4.1.2 on an Sony Xperia S.
