htc one x - cant adjust headset volume

I'm running soundabout version 2.5.6.1, purchased of course. On android 4.1.2 .

Whenever I connect headphones to my phone I cannot decrease the volume. The graphic bar for volume decreases but there us no change in volume. I've uninstalled and restarted the phone, then reinstalled the program but I still get the same issue. I don't remember this being an issue before so it must have started with one of the updates.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

When you uninstall SoundAbout, does the issue go away? I have some headset volume setting in the Beta version but it is not used by default.

I tried the new beta with no change. It's still very loud and does not lower volume. I then tried uninstalling the program and still have the same issue. Odd, because I don't remember this being an issue previously before installing soundabout.

Thoughts on other tests I could try to resolve this issue?

I had the down volume go on my old Galaxy Nexus. I think the case was on wrong and was pressing it down all night and caused something to stick.

If you want to rule out SoundAbout completely, then:

1) Have SoundAbout installed.
2) Go into Phone settings, then Manage Apps.
3) Find SoundAbout, click it.
4) Clear cache, clear data, force stop, then un-install.

5) Go into Phone settings, then Manage Apps.
6) Find SoundAbout Pro(if installed), click it.
7) Clear cache, clear data, force stop, then un-install.

Restart the phone and check the volume.
