Media audio setting doesn't persist

I always use the following settings:

• Wired Headset detection: on
  
• Wired Headset microphone: on
  
• Notifications to speaker: off
  
• Media audio: Wired Headphones

I use this app so that when headphones are plugged in, notifications play through the headphones, but when headphones aren't plugged in, notifications play through the speaker. This works. However, sometimes the Media audio setting gets reset to "Let app decide" on its own.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Unplug headphones
   
2. Open the app and verify the settings are the same as above
   
3. Hit the back button (not home) to close the app
   
4. Plug in headphones and then unplug them
   
5. Open the app; Media audio is set to "Let app decide"
   

OR

1. Follow steps 1 to 3 from above
   
2. Open the app
   
3. Plug in headphones and then unplug them
   
4. Close the app with the back button
   
5. Open the app; Media audio is set to "Let app decide"
