SoundAbout crashes after installation of new pro key...

I upgraded to the new pro key version in the play store, but now my SoundAbout closes as soon as I open it. I have tried the latest Google Play version of the app as well as a few beta versions. They all behave the same way. As soon as I uninstall the pro key, the application works as it should (minus the pro feature). I'm running Android 5.0 on a Galaxy S5. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also I've tested app from play store and latest beta and both are closed immediately after I've opened it when soudabout pro is installed.
When sound about pro is uninstalled I can launch sound about from marker (but this one not working well with lollipop)
Soundabout 2.5.8.1.7 is crashing on android 5.1 all the time (with or without pro version installed)

What happened to my soundabout pro icon? Is this going to cause a problem?
It says app is there, but no icon. Hopefully a fix is coming.

There is no more icon as it is not needed. The app being installed unlocks the features. I will check what is going on with the app crashing. Hopefully I can reproduce it.

OK, I just released 2.6 to Google Play. It will take a while to see it. This new version will work with the updated SoundAbout Pro key.

If you want to install it now, you can get it download it in the Beta section. Look for "Production Version 2.6 just released to Google Play store"

I appreciate the quick turnaround. I just uninstalled the version of soundabout I was running, rebooted, installed the 2.6 linked, and installed the pro key again. The application acts as though it wants to open but immediately disappears. The status icon appears though at this point. That never happened in previous versions. The application may be working with the default settings, but I cannot access any options because the app still closes immediately. I may be able to set everything up the way I want it before installing the pro key as a workaround, but I won't be able to try that until tomorrow. I just wanted to give you a heads up that the new version isn't quite right for me yet. Thanks again for your concern.

You may have to clear the old settings as the settings have changed.

Try this:

Can you go into the phone settings, Manage apps. Then scroll to SoundAbout and click it. Press the Clear cache button, then Clear data, and then Force Stop.

Then try running SoundAbout again and see if it displays.

I actually just tried the workaround. The application does seem to work as I want it when I configure everything before installing the pro key. I just can no longer access the options once the key is installed because the app closes immediately. I know you are still working on the issue. I just wanted to share the workaround to help you debug and help others who may be experiencing the same issue in the meantime.

I just tried the clear cache/data/force stop rerun thing, but it still opens and immediately closes.

I reproduced the same issue if I have an older version of SoundAbout and a newer version of SoundAbout Pro.

If you go into Manage Apps, what versions of SoundAbout and SoundAbout Pro do you have?

The latest SoundAbout is 2.6. The latest SoundAbout Pro is 1.1.9.

2.6 and 1.1.9 are what I'm running.

I have Verizon Galaxy S5 running Android 5.0

When I have SoundAbout 2.6 and SoundAbout Pro 1.1.9, it works for me.

I tried it again. No luck. I wish I could help you reproduce my issue.

I've installed latest beta (2.6) right now. I can launch app and it's not crashing but I see "blank" screen, no menu options. With pro version from market the app is crashing.

The latest 2.6 and 1.1.9 still give me the same window closing immediately issue.

I'm having trouble reproducing in debug mode.

If you install the LogCat app, then run SoundAbout to let it generate something in the log, then run the LogCat app and email the log to soundabout@woodslink.net, it might show a useful error.

Hi, Just to say I am getting exactly the same using versions 2.6 and 1.1.9 - I have uninstalled and reinstalled and cleared cahces etc numerous times.  The only difference I can see is even using the downloaded 2.6 from the beta downloads page I still get instant vanishing version instead of a blank screen.  I am using Samsung S5 Lollipop v 5.0. I have just emailed log from logCat now

I just emailed my log as well.

I think it was a Google bug in the licensing code for Android 5.0. Coding a fix now.

I have recently purchased PRO key v1.2.0 and after installing it the SoundAbout app crashed. I did everything suggested in this thread but got no luck. I'm using Android JB (MIUI v5 ROM).

I have SoundAbout 2.6.4. I just purchased the pro key, version 1.2.0, this morning (7/31/2015) and the SoundAbout app would close immediately after opening. I rebooted my phone and found the same behavior. I've uninstalled the pro key and asked for a refund as it's clearly not working. Once it's working I may try again.

I have a Verizon Motorola Droid Razr HD with Android 4.4.2. The phone is not unlocked and not rooted.
