Voice search with car hands-free mic
Here's what I'd like to do when I'm in my car, with my phone in a dash mount, connected via bluetooth to my car hands-free: Press a shortcut on my phone's screen to switch on the car's microphone, then start a SoundAbout voice search session, then turn off the car's microphone when I'm done with the voice search.
The only way I can see to do it is if I leave the microphone override on all the time. But that eliminates the possibility of listening to the car radio.
What's the right way to do this?

No, undo that microphone override setting.
Do this instead:

Perfect. That works just as you intended. I was making it too hard.
Thank you.

One suggestion to help newbies like me: I had already read the post you linked to, but I didn't understand that clicking the Soundabout Voice Search icon would redirect the microphone input from the bluetooth hands-free, since you only mention audio output in that post. It might be helpful to add something like this:
10] Then use the Soundabout Voice Search Shortcut to initiate a voice search. That will turn on the hands-free microphone for the voice search.
Thanks again.

All set. I added a step for the Voice Search shortcut.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I just bought a Flic button. I'm planning to use it to launch the "Soundabout Voice Search" Shortcut when I'm in my car. Should be pretty cool.
