Wired microphone not working

Hi! After the first security patch (6.0.1) on Android 6.0 my Samsung Galaxy S5 stopped to recognized my wired headphones and earphone with mic.

All the media/calls are sent to speakers instead of phones.

I've searched a lot and did everything possible software related to this and I assume i have to buy a new phone, since the warranty is over.

Using SoundAbout, i could get sound on headphone/earphone, EXCEPT for one big problem. I couldn't get it recognize the mic.

On calls, i hear sound from earphone, but the mic is not working.

I set SoundAbout like this:

If the phone does NOT detect that the headphones are plugged in:

1) "Wired Headset detection" setting to IGNORE (un-checked)

2) "Media audio" setting to "Wired Headset (with mic)" (if the headset has a mic to be used), or "Wired Headphones" (if not microphone on the headphones).

4) "Phone call audio" setting to "Wired Headset (with mic)" (if the headset has a mic to be used), or "Wired Headphones" (if not microphone on the headphones).

Could anyone please help me?

If the phone has an issue, then you are using the correct settings.

Another issue is that the wired headset may not be perfectly compatible with the phone or something changed with the pin detection for the various sections of the wired headset jack pin.

It is strange that a security patch has made the microphone not work.
