Samsung Galaxy S3 Ringtone through speaker

I have a Galaxy S3 Android v4.3 Baseband Version R530UVXUBMJA

I am running Soundabout 2.5.7.8.8

I upgraded to the above Soundabout version and now my text notifications are working properly through the Bluetooth only as they should

BUT

NOTHING has worked to get my ringtones to stop coming through the speaker AND the bluetooth. It used to work. Someone would call and the ringtone would only come through on the bluetooth, not the bluetooth and speaker. I can't have the ringtone coming through the speaker when my Bluetooth is connected, it is very disruptive to clients.

I have uninstalled AND reinstalled SoundAbout already. It USED to work on the previous version of Android flawlessly.

How do I stop the ringtones from coming through the speaker of the phone?????? Nothing I have changed stops it from happening!

I have the Pro version of SoundAbout.

I am having the same issues on Samsung Galaxy S3 Android v4.3 and Soundabout version 2.5.8.0

The settings in Notification behavior have changed. They used to say "Allow Notifications To speaker" and "Allow ringtones to speaker". That was misleading because some people thought that the app could force the audio to the speaker which is NOT the case. It can allow it to continue to the speaker (if it was intended to), or it can block the speaker. Therefore the titles have changed and the functionality is thus reversed. Checking the settings will block the speaker. Un-checking the settings will only allow audio to the speaker if the notification/ringtone was meant to go to the speaker from the originating app.

I have checked both Block notifications to speaker and Block Ringtones to speaker

The ringtones and notifications STILL go through the speaker when the bluetooth is connected

The program has been uninstalled and reinstalled

The phone was rebooted

I do not want notifications to speaker with the bluetooth connected ... why are they still going through the speaker????

Same here...I have checked block notifications and ringtones. I have a Plantronics Legend that is a Bluetooth A2DP headset. My issue cropped up soon after I updated the phone to 4.3 on Verizon.

4.3 is proving to be a big headache.  

I just tried, but it worked properly for me. I will have to send you an email with a version to try and see if it is any better.

Texts notifications seem to be working the way they should .... most of the time, but never ringtones, no matter what settings, ringtones are coming through on the speaker and the bluetooth

I noticed the same thing. When I get text notifications, they come through on the bluetooth headset. The call notifications are not.

Sorry, I've been heads down, at night, working on both better Bluetooth mono audio and microphone code and new notification/ringer settings. I'm alone, so when I answer emails/posts, I am not coding and vice/versa.

I want something decent to send, and when I rip the code apart for new settings, it take a while to get back into a testable Beta.

I am putting in settings to allow changing the phone's Notification/Ringer mode based on what audio device is connected..... and also...trying to block the notification from going to the speaker. My guess is that Android 4.3 is probably turning the speaker ON right when the notification is being sent which may be causing the block to no longer work. There is no way to detect when a notification is about to play. I could try to give SoundAbout constant notification audio focus and then detect when that audio focus is taken away, but this would probably result in more battery usage.

Same issue. I can get the notification to play through the bluetooth, but not the phone ring. I cleared the app cache, uninstalled, reinstalled, and restarted.

Ringtones just won't go through Bluetooth. There are plenty of threads like this where people have tried:

I understand that, but I mean just the notification of the ringtone. I can't get your program to stop the phone from ringing on the speaker too. What is weird is that when I first downloaded your program I did get ringtones through Bluetooth, but as Samsung updated their os that stopped working. I realize that isn't your software's issue. My problem is that I can't stop it from ringing out loud using your program. I have to switch my phone to vibrate. The reason I initially went with your software was that I missed lots of things by not feeling it vibrate. The functionality of having some sort of noise in my ear during the work day with out my ringtone blasting is what I can't get to work.

If you are connected to Bluetooth A2DP and listening to a music player, the music player can affect how the ringtones are played as well.

When you go into the "Alert Behavior" section and then click the "Bluetooth (A2DP) behavior" setting. Next, change the "Ringtones to:" setting to "A2DP only".

I have the same problem on note 2 android 4.3 and saddly latest beta don't solve it.

Are you getting the ringtone playing in both the A2DP Bluetooth headset AND the speaker?

I'm getting ringtone on speaker and "ring notification" on headphones.

Yes. It is stereo headset with mic.
