No sound from powered external speakers SG2 thinks the speakers are headphones!!! WHAT SETTINGS TO TRY??

Now that I upgraded to the pro version of Sound About can anyone suggest settings to try?? My original post is a few entries below. thank you

Did this speaker ever work before?

If you are plugging the speakers into the headset jack, then the phone will use the headphone or headset (with mic) audio output.  

Have you tried switching the "Media audio" setting to either "Wired headphones" or "Wired Headset (with mic)"?

Are the speakers getting power? The phone will not be able to use external speakers unless they are powered and plugged in. The phone only has the ability to work with small speaker,like headphones that are not connected too a power source.

I've also heard of people using a cable like this to send audio to a receiver that is hooked up to speakers:
