speaker echo on phone calls

I have a Google nexus 7 tablet 2012 version and use the manic jack app to make VoIP phone calls. People I call complain that they hear a voice echo on their end of the line during calls. Tried everything to fix. Nothing worked. Came across sound about and tried free version. Problem solved. I assumed the "let app decide" feature was correcting my problem. 5 days later I got the notice to buy the ""Pro version of the app". Purchased pro version and echo problem returned. What am I doing wrong?
