can't get headphones only when plugged in

I purchased the sound about app for my galaxy s4 to stop the speaker when I plug in headphones but it still sends through the speaker. I have put it on "wired headphones" and it switches to "let the app decide" automatically and then pushes notifications and phone calls back through the speaker. Am I missing something?

You go into the "Alert behavior" section, chose "Wired Headset behavior" and then set the "Notifications To" setting.

I don't want to stop the notifications or anything, I want everything to go through the headphones and not the speaker when I plug in the headphones.  Does this app do this?
