Delaying TTS doesn't work with Bluetooth device Empty Delaying TTS doesn't work with Bluetooth device

Hi,

I came across your app here - http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s4/312201-google-maps-voice-navigation-does-not-work-bluetooth-enabled.html

I have a bluetooth enabled helmet that I want to use ONLY for navigation via Google Maps (I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2). The reason I am trying out soundabout is because currently, I miss out on the first few seconds of navigation instructions.

I downloaded the app and set Delay Utterance to 2 seconds. Now when I click on 'Listen to an example' I hear '...using SoundAbout' after 2 seconds, instead of the whole 'Thank you for using SoundAbout'.

Really really hope you can help me with this, or I will be getting lost very frequently Sad

Did you change the media audio setting back to "Let app decide" before switching over to using the SoundAbout TTS engine?

I would first download and install the latest Beta version from here:

Yes, Google Maps will work "OK". To do this the navigation app has to send directions to a Text-To-Speech engine. If you are using the SoundAbout TTS engine (which forwards to a "real" engine that you choose), then SoundAbout TTS can capture the request, then switch the audio to Bluetooth mono, and allow the real TTS engine to play the directions over the car speakers.

To do what you what follow this thread:

Google Nav sometimes has pre-recorded messages that interfere with the TTS directions. Those can be stopped using these directions:

I find Copilot works really well because it uses TTS for ALL of the directions. Instructions for Copilot and even using IVONA are here:
