Cardo Scala rider Q2, BT mono NON A2DP
I have been trying to get my non-A2DP M/C helmet headset to work with my Galaxy note 2 phone but have been having trouble with a reliable connection with the various free BT apps. I tried the Pro version of soundabout but could not get the sound from google maps working through the headset and even the android music app was unusable though it worked occasionally. I have now returned to using the somewhat simple BTMono app, but I have had reliability issues with that in the past and would really prefer a more reliable and featured app.
When BT is enabled I would like all audio from the phone (google maps, phone calls, music ...) to be redirected to the headset including the microphone. Is this possible?.

Re: Cardo Scala rider Q2, BT mono NON A2DP
Google changed Maps so that it no loner uses the default Android Text to speech engine. This means that playing the directions over the Bluetooth mono phone channel is now limited to setting Media Audio to "Bluetooth (mono) (dynamic)".
The problem is that this setting takes two seconds to connect so you lose some instructions. With text to speech this can be controlled.
Other apps still work really well with SoundAbout TTS. I use CoPilot.
The directions are here:

If you want constant audio and mic to be Bluetooth, then you have to set the SoundAbout Media Audio setting to "Bluetooth mono".
New versions have just been uploaded to Google play that will address various issues on Android 6+.
You can get them now from the Beta section located here (need a login to the message board). There is also Betas for SoundAbout and SoundAbout Pro.
