Get rid of Notifications in the status bar:

In some cases (like Bluetooth usage), SoundAbout service needs to run as a foreground service so that Android will not kill the service and thus interrupt the Bluetooth connection.

You can also choose to always run SoundAbout Service as a foreground service by changing the "SoundAbout Service" setting to "ON - Foreground".

For those with Android below version 4.3, there is a SoundAbout setting in the "Notification behavior" section that allows turning SoundAbout notifications ON and OFF.

If you have Android 4.3 or above, then Android forces a notification in the status bar.

To "tell" Android that SoundAbout is allowed to NOT display the notifications, do the following:

1) Go into phone settings.
2) Find Manage Apps.
3) Scroll to SoundAbout and click it.
4) Scroll down to Permissions and click the Modify button (if you have one).
5) Turn OFF the Post notification, if you do not want to see notifications from SoundAbout.
6) You can also turn OFF the permission for SoundAbout to read contacts for the "Speak Caller ID" setting in "Notification behavior" / "Caller Notification behavior" section.

With the latest Beta version of SoundAbout (2.5.8.0.6) , this issue goes away.  You can either set the SoundAbout Service to "ON - with status" to see the notifications in the status bar, or "ON - no Status" to no longer see the notifications in the status bar.   Hopefully this workaround isn't "fixed" in a future version of Android.
