Delay Not Working w/ Waze, Google Maps, etc...

Hello -

I am trying to get SoundAbout working with Waze, and while I can get it to interrupt the radio (which is what i'm trying to do), I cannot get the delay to work... No matter what settings I have tried, the first word or two is either played through the phone speaker (more often than not), or I can't hear it, at all.

I've tried the settings found in other posts, but have had no luck. Any thoughts, suggestions, or best practices on how to get this to work?

My $ENV:

Moto X w/ Android 5.1
Latest version of SoundAbout from Play store

Most of the settings I've been able to get quasi-working include:
Media Output: BT Mono (Dynamic) - (Note: Let app decide defaults to A2DP, and does not play anything through the radio)
TTS Output BT Mono (Dynamic)
Delay Utterance (1-3,- doesn't seem to impact behavior)
Android TTS: SoundAbout TTS (tried others with little/no help, including enabling delay in enhanced TTS)

I just uploaded a newer version to the Play store.

TTS Output would work better with just BT mono; not dynamic.

That being said, Waze does NOT use Text to speech for all its instructions, so it doesn't always work well. If you try to use Media Audio setting on "Bluetooth (mono) (dynamic)", part of the directions will get cut off because it takes awhile for Bluetooth to connect and there is NO way for SoundAbout to pause Waze audio. This is why the SoundAbout TTS engine was created. It will accept directions, wait until the audio is switched and then send the directions to the REAL TTS engine.

Google Maps no longer uses third party TTS engines, Waze doesn't use TTS for all its instructions. The best navigation app for TTS is Copilot.

Thanks, and understood. I tried dynamic, when I got no sound with many of the other suggested configurations in other posts. Will try with the new build.
